How does the program work?

If you’re interested in receiving an adaptive bicycle for your child, please contact us at rareroadfoundation@gmail.com or submit an application. It will take up to 30 days for your application to be reviewed and we will notify you by email of our decision. If your application is approved by the Rare Road Foundation, we will need to connect with a physical therapist of your choosing to ensure the correct measurements and supports are included for your child in the bicycle order. Once the bike order is submitted, we will provide you with an estimated wait period for the bicycle’s delivery to your residence from the manufacturer.

Can I design my own bicycle?

Yes! You can select the colors and accessories for the bicycle. Each bike will come with a plaque stating it was provided by our Rosalie’s Ride: Adaptive Bicycle Program.

Question 3

Do I need a prescription or letter of medical necessity?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you will need a letter of medical necessity for the application process. You will also need to provide a note from your child’s physician confirming your child’s diagnosis and need for an adaptive bicycle.

Question 4

Will my child’s bicycle come fully assembled?

Accepted Answer

No, the bicycle will arrive at your residence and will be partially assembled. This is not a labor-intensive process and is very simple to put together.

What if the bicycle arrives damaged or does not work properly when assembled?

Should your bike arrive damaged or fail to function properly, please contact us at rareroadfoundation@gmail.com and we will work with you to remedy the issue.

Question 6

Does the bicycle grow with my child? Can it be adjusted for changes in height?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the bicycle can be adjusted at home as your child’s height changes.
